SaintCaleth. I was talking with Curtis and he mentioned you were playing out of China. He said it was no doubt the reason we were lagging so bad. In fact, when you were off, we went a lot faster. I hate to say to people not to play but I hate more spending so many hours in lag after lagging hour.
The solution is to get a proxy server from something like Google so that you have no lag. I heard it's not cheap but otherwise you ruin the experience (no fault of your own) fpr everybody else because of your distance.

I am in China, and I already have a VPN, which is what I was fiddling with the whole time and should theoretically work the same as a proxy server for applications like d20pro.
I think that the problem above all is the time of day since I was playing starting at 11am my time on Saturday and my internet is generally slower during the day on the weekend, even if it has never been as bad as toda.y. I have used d20pro and skype at the same time at other times (and on Curtis' server) without any problem, so I suspect that what will ultimately happen is that I just can't play in the friday night games, which sucks because I at least want to finish the First Steps with Belisarius. I will see about weekdays, since I don't usually loose speed untill after dinner during the week.

Sorry to have to force you out. If the situation changes then that would be okay. I know that James wants a chance to run a game without crazy lag and was probably blaming himself. As well, I was about to cancel and I'm sure with the amount of lag others would have followed.
Hell, I was shutting off everything that may have caused my computer to f up the system too and in fact accidently shut down d20 pro once.
Who knows, maybe it is Jame's computer too, but we were running much much quicker after you left. We'll see next week.

Could I join if I have signed up for a different one of these with the same character or do I need different characters if I want to join multiples of these?

as far as the first steps games go, every character you have that is level one can do each one once but only if they are level one. as for the other games on this board, you can enter any of the ones that you have characters that qualify.
this game is full tghough.
